Alex is seeking opportunities to acquire or invest in founder/family-owned businesses in Palm Beach County, primarily focusing on established enterprises with owners who are considering retirement, seeking to liquidate equity for estate planning, or looking for a strategic partner to support future growth.

As an independent investor and entrepreneur (not a private equity firm) he is committed to preserving the legacy, culture, and people that have made a business successful. My goal is to build upon its foundation while bringing fresh perspectives and long-term value.

Alex Millan was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to a small business-owning father and a stay-at-home mother. He expressed interest in business and real estate from a very young age. Alex learned about the industry from investors and property owners in his area. Here, he gained valuable skills regarding business, construction, management, and overall operations of companies and properties. Upon graduating high school in 2015, he moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, seeking opportunity for his ambitious vision.

Alex attended Palm Beach Atlantic University where he pursued multiple entrepreneurial ventures ranging from importing craft goods, e-commerce, and professional services. He also worked to establish himself as an expert on the local real estate market. He regularly attended city planning board and city commission meetings, speaking in favor of projects he believed would improve the city. He studied property records and made spreadsheets and financial models of potential properties. His other activities included networking with brokers, digging for new information on properties, touring properties, and familiarizing himself with neighborhoods throughout the city.

In February 2018, Alex and his business partner Joe Amato formed Amato-Millan and began the search for their first property to purchase. Initially, they had planned on buying an existing building and completing value-added improvements. After a prolonged and futile search due to a supply-constrained market, they realized they could build a brand new project in a superior location for nearly the same cost per unit as the initial properties they considered. Alex ventured into a mostly industrial neighborhood adjacent to downtown. He saw the potential through the rough and dusty exterior of the warehouses and construction yards. In just a matter of weeks, Joe and Alex had their first piece of land under contract, and subsequently acquired two more adjacent pieces for a 1.6 acre assemblage. This cemented Amato-Millan as one of the founding members of the ever-expanding Warehouse District.

They pursued a rezoning for the property which allowed them to build 51 units on the site. Seeing the potential and trajectory of the area, Amato-Millan felt the responsibility to set a defining standard for excellence. Contracting with Claren Architecture and Design, as well as world-renowned artist 2Alas, a beautiful and modern garden-style apartment community clad with one-of-a-kind art was born. Alex was intimately involved with every aspect of the process – financial modeling, due diligence, negotiations, land acquisition, planning & zoning, the architectural design phase, mechanical and structural design, interior design, consultant coordination, bidding, contract negotiations, permitting, construction management, punch list, pre-leasing, leasing, property management, property maintenance, and disposition. Construction started in early 2021, and through diligent work with the contractor, the anticipated completion date was reduced by four months and finished in March 2022. The project will also come in on budget, despite worldwide price increases and supply shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alex also has an extensive philanthropic side. At the age of 14, he had the opportunity to meet Eric Trump, whom he admired for starting a foundation to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Alex was born with a cleft palate, so felt a deep connection to children's health organizations. Alex worked to raise money for the foundation and presented Eric with the donation money he’d raised. Eric was extremely impressed and asked Alex to sit on the Board of Directors for the Curetivity Foundation. To date, the foundation has raised over $30 million for the hospital.

Alex also loves art; he was the Director of Operations for the nonprofit Canvas Outdoor Museum Show in West Palm Beach. The show brought international artists from around the globe to install world-class art in the city. Alex handled the logistics involving equipment and construction, as well as worked with city officials to obtain approvals and permits. This helped Alex develop valuable relationships with city staff and other important elected officials.

Alex has goals of becoming a dominant force in the Palm Beach & West Palm Beach Businesses and real estate market through many different types of assets. He sees untold potential in the city and broader county. He is committed to building projects and businesses that are unique and elevate the level and prestige of the community. Alex sees great upside in using creativity and imagination to put deals together, whether this be in real estate through the adaptive reuse of a property, assembling land to create a fantastic development opportunity, or in businesses through acquiring excellent businesses and growing them to be excellent places to work and create value for members of the community. Alex aims to find these opportunities through his continual research and examination of the local market and trends. He is also continually expanding his network of local like-minded entrepreneurs, government officials, community leaders, artists, and business leaders to understand the type of assets the county needs to prosper. Alex hopes to incorporate his passion for placemaking, art, and culture into all his projects and businesses. This will attract talent, and premium assets, as well as establish a growth-centric ecosystem in the community to improve everyone's opportunities and help their pursuit of the American dream. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
